In May, Aiden the Fight for Life was one of the honored recipients of grant funding from the Rockford Cosmopolitan Club. Our organization was awarded a grant in the amount of $1900 for the purchase of audio and visual equipment for our Movie-in-the-Park program.
Cosmopolitan International, a civic organization dedicated to finding a cure for diabetes, has a membership of approximately 2,100 members in some 70 clubs in the
United States,
Canada, and
Mexico. The mission of Cosmopolitan International is to contribute to community well-being through charitable donations and volunteer service with special emphasis on supporting efforts to prevent and find a cure for diabetes.
Members of our organization attended the Cosmopolitan Awards Luncheon held at Forest Hills Country Club on May 6, 2010. At this event, Aiden the Fight for Life was recognized for our contribution to the community and to those affected by childhood cancer.
The grant funding awarded by the Rockford Cosmopolitan Club assures the continuation of the program. Equipment for our first Movie-in-the-Park event in September 2009 was loaned to our organization for the evening, but was not guaranteed to be available for future showings. The support of the Cosmopolitan Club guarantees the program’s future for many movies to come!
