Briggs & Al’s Run & Walk
2008-2010
Aiden’s family and friends have proudly participated in
the annual Briggs & Al’s Run & Walk for Milwaukee Children’s Hospital
since Aiden’s treatment at the facility began. The walk is the oldest run/walk in the state
of Wisconsin and one of the largest combined 8K events in the
U.S. with approximately 15,000 –
16,000 participants each year.
The walk/run has raised more than $12 million for
Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, with all gifts and pledges
going directly to help children. We’re
proud to say that Aiden’s personal Briggs & Al’s web page at www.firstgiving.com/aidendoner
has raised approximately $5,000 for the hospital since we began participating in
2008.
In 2008, Aiden was one of eleven patients selected as a
“Children’s Champion.” Champions inspire other families who might be going through
a difficult time and raise awareness about a disease or important health
issue. Many of these children, and
thousands of other children they represent, have faced life-threatening illness.
Some of them are still fighting for their
lives.
We are proud to be a part of the Briggs & Al’s Run
& Walk each year. We feel honored to
be able to give back to a facility that has done so much for so many…a facility
that has saved Aiden’s life time-and-again.
Funds raised through the Briggs & Al’s Run & Walk
support the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Children’s provides highly specialized care
to critically ill patients of all ages, from newborns to adolescents. Children’s Hospital is a Level I Pediatric
Trauma Center with 72 pediatric critical care beds.
